Transition metal complexes with redoxactive ligands

This project deals with the synthesis of redox active, often sulfur rich ligands for transition metal complexes (mainly iron, nickel, and cobalt complexes). The influence of the redox active unit of the organic ligand on the redox potentials of the metal centre can be investigated. The substitution with sulfur rich groups can have an effect on the potential spin crossover behaviour of the iron complexes; this will be examined as well.
